Keep up to date with all the news happening in school at the moment.
At the end of Spring 2 it was MASKED OWLS who managed to earn enough house points to win the house cup. INDIAN OWLS managed to run the most laps across the school to win the Run Together Cup. Well done everyone. Keep up the hard work and let's see who's colours will be on the cups at the end of next half term.
Well done to Years 3 and 4 for their fantastic play following Little Wolf and his search for ’badness’. They worked really hard in putting the performance together and all sung, acted and danced their hearts out to give the audience excellent entertainment.
PC Cliff Broom came to visit Nursery and Reception last week to support our learning about 'People who help us.' The children were amazed to see a real Police officer! They asked some really brilliant questions and even got to listen to the siren on the police car...it was really loud!
We had a fantastic response to our Mother's Day breakfast and mums/special ladies enjoyed sharing a croissant and some juice with the children whilst talking about their children's learning, sharing a story and showing off their work displayed in the classroom.
On Thursday Year 2 went to Longdean for a Sportshall Athletics afternoon. The children took part in a range of activities including javelin, long jump, relay races, balancing and obstacle races. The children were very sporting and had a great afternoon.
World Book Day was on Thursday and in the evening we had fun turning our classrooms into special story time dens! We had a great response with 130 children returning to school in their bedtime wear! Many thanks to the staff who stayed after dark to read stories and prepare the important hot chocolate treat!
Magic and Muggles then also happened on Friday at Chambersbury! We had great fun celebrating this special day by dressing up, visiting our new library and our assembly to find out what teachers are currently reading. As briefly mentioned above, we have just opened our new library! Just in time for World Book Day! The area outside the computer suite has been redesigned and book shelves moved from throughout the school into one place. Books are still accessible in the classroom but the bulk of the library is now in a newly decorated space. Ms Cooper and Mr Phillips have worked extremely hard to create an area to promote the love of reading!
