  • One World Week

    Fri 19 May 2023

This week has been One World Week. This year’s focus is inspired by David Attenborough’s Wild Isles, this year’s theme is ONE WILD WORLD. We would like the children to think about wildlife in different parts of the world, the ecosystems involved and, most importantly, the impact of human activity and climate change on that wildlife.

The sun was shining on Thursday afternoon for our One Wild World sharing assembly, which was a wonderful way to complete the half term. I really hoped you enjoyed seeing what the classes have been up to this week and hearing about their learning. It was such a speculator display of singing, dancing and creative work.

Below are the countries that the different classes were learning about...

Nursery & Reception —The British Isles

    Year 1— China

    Year 2—Australia

    Year 3—Canada

    Year 4- Brazil

    Year 5—South Africa

    Year 6—Urban Jungle (Singapore)

  • Year 6 Residential

    Sun 14 May 2023

Year 6 left on Sunday 14th May and travelled to Kent where they spent the next 4 days. The weather was kind to them and the little bit of rain did not dampen their spirits. The got to experience lots of amazing activities. Although, speaking to Year 6, fencing, the zip wire and fire lighting seemed to be the favourites ones! They had a wonderful time and made lots of memories to take away from Chambersbury. The instructors commented on their good manners and positive behaviour which made me proud as their headteacher. A big thank you to Mrs Good and Miss Alford for organising the trip and giving up their time to make this special!

  • Coronation Picnic

    Fri 12 May 2023

To celebrate the King's Coronation and the end of KS2 SATS (well done Year 6!) we planned a picnic outside. Typically it has rained which meant we had our coronation celebration inside with children enjoying a picnic indoors. The hall was decorated with flags and bunting and music to give a party atmosphere. All classes have also had the opportunity to complete different fun activities to celebrate this historic event.
