  • A special Owl themed assembly

Fri 05 May 2017 Mr Guilder

On Friday 5th May were visited by Erica and Olivia from Night Owls 🦉  for a special owl themed assembly.

They told us about some of the 160 varieties of owl, how they are a bird of prey with hooked beaks and tallons on the end of their feet. We met 7 owls - Hattie a tawny owl, Willow & Wispa barn owls, Chip a little owl, Murphy an African spotted eagle owl, Tango a white faced scops owl and Oscar an Arhonis eagle owl.

Tango, Wispa and Murphy flew over the hall and got very close to us. We were amazed by how quietly the owls could fly around. We learnt lots and had a chance to have our photos with an owl after the assembly.

"I like the owls, they are very majestic" - Lewis (Year 3)

"It was very exciting! I felt weird holding the Owl, I could feel its claws on the glove" - Zara (Year 5)

"Pupils at Chambersbury Primary School receive a good quality of education. They know staff want them to do well." OFSTED, November 2022
