Fri 24 Mar 2017 Mr Guilder

On Friday 24th March children at Chambersbury Primary School celebrated Red Nose Day, the comic relief event that raises millions to help children in the UK and the wider world.

Having had assemblies talking about the work that Comic Relief does, children and staff had the chance to come to school dressed as their favourite nose or all in red. They raised around £200 for the charity.

  • Commonwealth Day

    Mon 13 Mar 2017 Mr Guilder & Year 5

On Monday 13th March Year 5 celebrated Commonwealth Day.

The day started with a celebration assembly in the hall where we shared the flags of the countries we represent, along with some facts, with the school. We dressed up in the style of our country and gathered around the Commonwealth flag.

We spent the rest morning presenting our homework projects to the class and completing a maths problem solving challenge based on the capital cities of the commonwealth. We learnt a lot and it was obvious that many children had put loads of effort into their projects.

In the afternoon we explored stories from across the Commonwealth and held our own version of the Commonwealth Games!

  • Year 5/6 Tag Rugby Festival

Thu 02 Mar 2017 Mr Guilder & The Team

On Thursday 2nd of March 2017, 10 exceptional children from Year 5/6 at Chambersbury Primary School took part in a tag rugby festival at Hemel Hempstead Rugby Club. Schools from across the area competed, in a non-competitive group format.

Our squad of Raman who didn't stop running in the tries, dipping and diving Dax and Sliding Sonny took the majority of our tries. With Mazie, Ahyan, William, Aoife, Hope and Emma providing a solid backline and launching pad for the attack.

With scores not being recorded, it was all about the performance. Chambersbury made Mr Guilder and Miss Alford proud, with their hard work ethic, super speed and terrific team work.

"It was a great opportunity, I enjoyed having fun with my team mate" - Dax (Year 6)

"I liked pulling the tags and running" - Aoife (Year 6)

"We enjoyed beating the other schools and the best thing was winning, even though we didn't keep score!" Zara (Year 5)

"I enjoyed running, scoring tries and defeating the team we struggled against first time around. (Year 5)

"Pupils at Chambersbury Primary School receive a good quality of education. They know staff want them to do well." OFSTED, November 2022
