Keep up to date with all the news happening in school at the moment.
On Thursday 24th May and Thursday 7th June. we were visited by Michael - a player for Storm Basketball.
He treated Yr 3,4 and 5 to a basketball workshop (or in Year 4's case workshops!). Children were taught the basic principles of basketball as well as how to dribble the ball. Year 4 had a second workshop where they learnt how to shoot.
Michael put them through their paces with different drills; dribbling with one hand, with two hands, swapping the ball behind our back and also using alternate hands.
During Year 4's second session, Michael challenged Year 4 to score as many baskets as they could and even put them to the test to see if they could score a 3 point shot.
We all had a great time learning basketball and feel inspired to go watch Storm play in September!
Children across the school took part in a maths trail this morning where they had to use problem solving skills - including estimating, measurement, calculation, percentages, fractions and shapes - in the environment around them.
Its always great to do Maths together and children from nursery to Year 6 had an excellent time applying the knowledge they have learnt in the classroom.
"I love Maths, it's great to do it outside in the fresh air." - Evie (Yr 1)
"It's been good using all our maths skills outside." - AJ (Yr5)
