  • Year 5 and 6 Football Tournament

Tue 29 Mar 2016 Raman and Ethan

Today Year 5 and 6 played in the Dacorum School Sports Network Football Tournament held at Ashlyns School, Berkhamsted.  This was a seven a-side tournament.

We started off by playing Hobletts Manor sadly losing 1-0.  Next we played St Pauls school but we unfortunately lost 1-0 again.  Aster that, the team played Greenways and we beat them 3-1.  Our last game was against Boxmoor School and we won 1-0.  This meant that we came 3rd in Group E and sadly did not progress through to the quarter finals.

    Mr Yoxall says:

Whilst the team were slightly disappointed to have not progressed through to the quarter final stages of the tournament they did all play very well.  All of the team made a good contribution to the games and everyone worked hard.  The pitches that they played on were significantly longer than those the team had played on previously so this had a large effect on the schools play and meant that players were out of position when our opposition scored.  This is a good learning experience for our players and hopefully makes them stronger for next year!

  • Sports Relief

Fri 18 Mar 2016 Mr Yoxall

Today was Sports Relief for schools in the UK.  Whilst the whole event was taking place over the weekend of the 18th-20th of March schools were encouraged to do their fundraising on Friday.

At Chambersbury we had different things going on during the day for our children to take part in.

We first decided to make the day a "Dress Up as Your Favourite Sports Star" day.  All the children were encouraged to come in as their favourite sporting superstar for a donation to Sports Relief.

We then had all of our pupils, from Nursery through to Year 6, run the Sports Relief Mile.  This took place onsite with all our pupils running or walking (for our Nursery pupils!) around the school perimeter three times.  As you can see from our photographs this was an event enjoyed by everyone.

Please head over to our Sports Pages HERE to see more pictures of the event.

  • Our World Book Day

Fri 04 Mar 2016 Miss Alford
On Friday 4th March we had a very special day! Both children and staff came to school as their favourite book character. What amazing costumes we had! Excellent effort from all. Can you work which characters they are?
