Art Week in Year One
During Art Week Year One looked at the artist Piet Mondrian. Piet Mondrian was a Dutch painter who created abstract images. Mondrian’s style consisted of geometric shapes and primary colours.
Over the week, Year One used different techniques to create their own Piet Mondrian style piece of art work. First, we practised drawing lines with a ruler and experimented with using primary colours in our work. We also used 2D shapes to create a collage as well as ‘Paint’ programme to recreate some of Piet Mondrian’s famous paintings.
