Keep up to date with all the news happening in school at the moment.
On Thursday four of Mrs Gavin's art club attended the finals of the fifth annual Co-op art competition in Watford. Children were treated to food and musical entertainment before the awards were presented and Chambersbury was very well represented!
Violet and Skye received prizes for commended pieces of work, Tilly received a prize for a highly commended piece and Honey took home the prize for being second overall!
Well done to our artists and to Mrs Gavin who does a great job inspiring and supporting them.
Wednesday was our second annual Chambersbury Christmas Carousel!
After a fantastic assembly recapping the Nativity story and singing a few of our favourite Christmas songs, children across the whole school took part in a variety of activities including: making delicious donkey biscuits; creating colourful crowns; styling stunning stars; crafting Christmas cards; weaving woolly bookmarks; assembling awesome angels; and producing pretty puppets.
As you can see by the pictures below we had a great time exploring the Christmas story together.
This Friday, our upper school pupils took part in a spectacular drawing masterclass. Over half and hour Year 5 & 6: drew-along with Adam Hargreaves - son of Roger Hargreaves, who continues his father's popular Mr. Men and Little Miss series of children's books; got a taste of life as an illustrator from Nadia Shireen; created comic book characters with Jeff Kinney, author and illustrator of Diary of a Wimpy Kid; unleashed their inner superhero with Ali-A; and discovered the power of a pencil to change the world in Malala’s inspiring new picture book, Malala’s Magic Pencil.
