  • Science Week 2022

Mon 26 Sep 2022 Miss Elias

This week we have all celebrated Science Week and enjoyed lots of exciting activities in school. On Monday we kick-started the week with an amazing science show called ‘Explosive food’, provided by the Royal Institution. The show was packed with exciting chemistry and physics demonstrations. The children absolutely loved it and their screams of excitement could be heard across the school! The community show with families in the evening was just as exciting.

During the week the children have also tried to answer The Big Science Week Question, ‘Is it true that the older you are, the bigger your hands are?’ The children worked scientifically by measuring and comparing their hand span, recording the data, discussing and explaining the results and so much more! On Thursday we had some lovely visitors who came and talked to the children about their careers in STEM. The visits were mainly aimed at KS2 as a way of inspiring them to pursue a career in STEM and find out more about Science related jobs as well as the attributes needed to do them.

Last but not least, I’d like to say thanks for the overwhelming amount of home learning challenges completed and the amazing photos sent to the school! We loved talking to the children about their home learning and they were super excited to tell us about the experiments they had done at home.

  • Voting for House Captains

    Fri 16 Sep 2022

Last Friday, Year 6 had the opportunity to give a speech to their House Group about why they felt they would make a good leader for their group. To stand up and speak in front of others is nerve racking and we are extremely proud of everyone who did make a speech. Their House Group voted for who felt would be the best leader this year.
