Sports Relief 2016

Sports Relief 2016

On Friday the 18th of March Chambersbury Primary School took part in Sports Relief fundraising.  Sports Relief is part of the Comic Relief Charity and raises money for worthy causes both within and outside of the UK.

For our fundraising activities we decided to make the school day a "Dress Up as Your Favourite Sports Star" day.  This meant that the children could all come in dressed as their favourite football player or gymnast or whoever they felt was their favourite sports star.

During the school day we also ran the Sports Relief Mile.  This was a run (or walk for our smallest children) around the schools perimeter three times!  All of the school took part in this from Nursery right through to Year 6.

Before our run we had a quick warm up on the playground with Mr Yoxall.  He got the group jumping and running so that they were nice and warm before their run!

We staggered the start of our mile so that our smaller children had a chance to get away before the bigger children were set off.  There were some very impressive runs especially from the Lower school children who ran their mile the whole way and at a great pace!  Every child who participated in the run came back with a smile and enjoyed what they had done for charity.

In the afternoon the school's House Captains presented certificates to every child who took part in the run.  They all received certificates detailing their achievement and that everyone was proud of what they had done.

Please look through our photos of the day.
