Our Terrific Tag Rugby Team

On Thursday the 22nd of March, nine spectacularly talented Year 5&6 students from Chambersbury Primary School took part in the Saracens Sport Foundation Tag Rugby Festival at Camelot.

Pitted in a league against four strong local schools, Chambersbury performed superbly in the non-scored games with six different try scorers and a number of stand out performances. "It was great," said Man of the Tournament Curtis, "I enjoyed the opportunity to beat other schools, even if it wasn't competitive!"

Connie added, "It was just a lot of fun, I thought that we were really well organised and that helped us in our games." The team definitely stuck to their game plan, as they came up against bigger schools and were able to hold their ground, grinding out the tries.

Captain Fajar said, "I loved it, it was good being captain and I enjoyed scoring a couple of tries as well!" Other try scorers were Curtis (2), Tristan (1), Samir (1), Zara (1) and top scorer Sonny (5).

Most importantly, the team represented our school superbly. They were polite (on and off the field), hard-working and showed immense togetherness.

"Pupils at Chambersbury Primary School receive a good quality of education. They know staff want them to do well." OFSTED, November 2022
