Welcome to Year 4!

In Year 4, our teacher is Mrs Gerber. We are supported in our learning
by Mrs Stephens and Mr Timberlake.

Some useful information: 

• PE - PE lessons is held first thing on Monday mornings and in the last lesson on a Wednesday. Please ensure that you have your full PE kit in school every day as lessons may change due to weather or other unplanned circumstances.
• Swimming - Swimming takes place in the Autumn and Spring terms only. There is no swimming this term.
• Reading - Reading records will be checked every day and children are expected to read 5 times a week. Books will be exchanged on a Tuesday and a Thursday. Children can read books from home if they finish their school book and can comment on these in their reading record.
• Homework - Homework will be handed out on a Friday and returned to school on Wednesday. You will receive 1 piece of Maths homework (reflecting this week's learning or consolidation of a previously learnt concept), times tables and spellings. All children in Year 4 are expected to write at least four of their spelling words into sentences as part of their homework. Spellings will be tested on Friday morning. 

• Times tables test - By the end of Year 4, children are expected to know all of their times tables up to 12 x 12. Click on the Maths page for some useful links to use at home.
