Welcome to Year 2!

Our teacher is Mrs Gardner. We are supported in our learning by Miss Abbott.

Key Information

• PE: From September our usual PE days will be a Tuesday and Thursday. Please ensure that you have your full PE kit in school every day as lessons may change due to weather etc. PE kits will be sent home on a Friday and must be returned to school on Monday. Please make sure you can remove any earrings yourself or take them out before school. 
• Reading: Children will have two books to bring home, one decodable reader from our ELS phonics scheme and they will choose one from the school library. Please read with your child 5 days a week and sign in their record. Children can read a mixture of their school books and books from home, but please record this in their reading record books to help teachers see what the children are enjoying reading.
• BOOK CHANGE: We aim to change books on a Friday, but this is subject to change if necessary. 
• Homework: Homework will be set on Google Classrooms on a Friday. The children will be set a short maths task and spelling task (reflecting this week's learning or consolidation of a previously learnt concept) and are also expected to practise times tables - focusing on 10s, 2s and 5s. If you cannot get on to google classrooms, please speak to your class teacher.
