Victorian Day

Year 2 went back in time to experience life in the Victorian times (1854 to be exact). They were greeted by Miss Florence Nightingale and asked to travel with her to France. She was on her way to the hospital there and shared with the children her mission to improve conditions for the injured. The class made candleholders, diaries, lockets for their loved ones and nurses’ sashes to prepare for their journey to France. The children were able to experience life in the hospitals for both the soldiers and nurses. They were able to see first-hand some of the items the other nurses, doctors and passengers may have packed!

They all looked amazing and the day was a fantastic way to bring their learning to life and develop their history knowledge further.

"Pupils at Chambersbury Primary School receive a good quality of education. They know staff want them to do well." OFSTED, November 2022
