Year 1
Welcome to Year 1!
In Year 1, our teacher is Mrs Dibble. We are also supported by our teaching assistants, Mrs Steel and Mrs Dancer.
Some useful information:
PE – PE lessons will usually take place on Mondays and Tuesdays. Please ensure your child comes to school in their full PE kit on these days. Children should either remove their earrings before school or be able to take them out themselves.
Please note: on Thursday 13th November and Thursday 11th December, PE will take place on a Thursday instead of Tuesday.
Reading – Reading records will be checked daily, and children are expected to read five times a week. Books will be changed on Fridays. Each child will take home a reading practice book and a sharing book to enjoy with an adult. If your child finishes their school book, they are encouraged to read books from home and record these in their reading record.
Homework – Homework will be set on Fridays and checked the following Wednesday. Each week, children will receive one piece of maths homework (linked to the week’s learning) and a phonics task.
