Our teachers are Mrs Gallagher and Mrs Gardner. We are supported in our learning by Mrs Steele.

Information about our week:

PE lessons for Year 2 take place every Monday and Friday. Please ensure your child comes into school wearing their full School PE kit on these days. If your child wears earrings, they must be able to remove them independently, or please ensure they are taken out before school. 

 Reading records will be checked daily. Children in Year 2 are expected to read at least five times per week. Please record this in their reading record books. Children will have two books to bring home, one decodable reader from our ELS phonics scheme and one book they will choose one from the school library. Children can also read books from home, but please record this in their reading record books to help teachers see what the children are enjoying reading.

Book Change – We aim to change books on a Friday, but this is subject to change if necessary. Books will only be changed if the reading record book has been signed.

Homework will be set each week on Friday. The children will be set a short Maths task on Mathletics and a spelling task or harder to read and spell words (reflecting this week's learning or consolidation of a previously learnt concept) which will be sent home. Children are also expected to practise times tables – focusing on 10s, 2s and 5s. They can do this on TT Rockstars. If you have any issues accessing your TTRS or Mathletics, please speak to your class teacher. 

On occasion, we may put notices on Google Classroom. Please ensure you have access to your child's account and speak to us if you need any support.
