At Chambersbury Primary School, our Music Development Plan ensures that every child has access to a rich, broad, and inspiring music education. Music plays an important role in our curriculum, supporting wellbeing, creativity, and an appreciation of the arts. All pupils receive at least one hour of music teaching each week, alongside whole-school singing assemblies every other week, following the Charanga Original Scheme to provide progressive, high-quality learning opportunities. Children develop their understanding of music through listening, singing, playing instruments, composing, evaluating, and exploring a wide range of musical styles and cultures. Beyond the classroom, we offer exciting co-curricular opportunities including Young Voices, iRock band sessions, school productions, singing assemblies, and live performance experiences, helping pupils build confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong love of music. We are committed to continually developing our provision through new workshops, live performances, staff training, and wider opportunities for instrumental tuition, ensuring music remains a vibrant and valued part of school life for every child.
