Victorian Day Jan 2022
To bring together the children's learning in the Autumn term about Victorian life, and their new Spring topic about Florence Nightingale and how nursing has changed, the children are taking part in a Victorian Day in school.
Throughout the day they have opportunities to make a range objects that will help Florence and her nurses once they arrive in Scutari Hospital. They also get to 'meet' Florence and interview for a job of their choice.
They also have the chance to handle some artefacts from the time, using historical clues to work out who they might have belonged to.
The children is also the chance to take part in role play, both as nurses, patients and general workers in the hospital. They children have to use what they have learnt to help ensure the smooth running of Scutari hospital and help look after those in their care.
