Poetry
During our poetry topic, children challenged themselves to create poetry which created vivid imagery and used personification to help describe their ideas. We used the poem Sir Autumn by Grace Nichols as a starting point and then the children wrote their own poems based on the ocean. We explored how to use a range of different descriptive techniques including similies and metaphors, alliteration, onomatopoeia, personification and expanded noun phrases.
