Today some of the Year 5 and 6 pupils went to Leverstock Green Cricket Club to compete in a cricket tournament.
We all tried hard and had a great time. We also got to have a go at everything in cricket like bowling and batting.
We left after lunch and got there very quickly. Unfortunately we lost our first game against St. Paul's and won our second game against Hobletts Manor.
The pupils who went were Ethan, Kerri, Ollie, Noah, Haider and Aaliyan from Year 6 and Archie, Raman and Tayyab from Year 5. The main skill we need to work on is judging when to run after hitting the ball.
St Paul's had very good bowlers and only a few people on our team hit the ball. When we bowled against Hobletts Manor Haider bowled out one of their players so they lost 5 points and we won the game.
Mr Yoxall says; All of our pupils represented the school brilliantly and tried their hardest in their games. For a lot of our pupils it was the first time they had to bowl overarm in a competitive match and they performed really well. With some work on their running when batting we will score a lot of runs. Well done everyone!
