A group of year 3 and 4 children visited Longdean on Friday Morning to represent the school at the Dacorum School Sports cross country event.
The children were very well behaved and listened well to the instructions for the run and the finishing ‘funnel’. The year 3 girls set off first and set the bar very high with 2nd, 4th, 9th and 13th placed finishes. The year 3 boys came next with an equally impressive set of finishes with 4th, 9th, 15th, 18th, 30th and 33rd in a big field.
The year 4 girls started next and the field spread out quickly, with some of the other girls going off at a very fast pace. Our girls paced themselves very well and had 2nd, 7th, 10th, 12thand 34th place finishes. Our year 4 boys finished the event with the biggest field and again, they performed very well. They ran hard and we had 15th, 26th, 27th, 33rd and 36th place finishes, an excellent display of determined running against some very quick boys.
I am very proud of all the children that took part and the way they ran for the school. We await the results after half term.
