Year 5 Mini-Olympics

Year 5 Mini-Olympics

Year 5 were out at Cavendish school on the 7th of July, competing in a Mini-Olympics organised by the DSSN.  Having had Year 4 take part in a similar event a couple of weeks before the students were keen to try and emulate the success they had.

The Mini-Olympics worked with 5 events giving scores to an overall total.  The events were Basketball, Boccia, Table Tennis, Tennis and Athletics.

In most of the events we came 6th which, for our Year 5 being just put into teams for the day was a great achievement.  Our Tennis players were by far and away our best result of the day coming in 2nd for their sport.  They both received certificates for their achievement.

The DSSN school games are a high activity area for us and we will continue to enter days like this to give our pupils a chance to compete against other schools and to develop both their skills and knowledge of different sports.

Ofsted 2017 - Chambersbury is a "GOOD" school. "Pupils are very proud of their school"...."the learning environment both inside and outside is bright and thought-provoking"...Pupils say the school is 'like a family'. Read the full report in the Ofsted section of this site.
