Thursday

On Thursday morning it was Reception and Nursery's time to look at Healthy Eating and how it can help our bodies to eat Healthy foods.  It started with a quick presentation from Mr Yoxall about what was healthy meal choices and how they might help our body, along with what exercise might do to help as well.

After this both classes split into 6 groups and took part in a carousel of activities within Nursery and Reception.  These included food bingo, drawing a healthy lunchbox, splitting healthy food from unhealthy food and many more.  Each group had 10 minutes at their activity before moving on to the next one.

All our Foundation children drew themselves out a healthy lunchbox and had a member of staff nearby to help them pick out their foods and ask whether or not it counted as healthy.  We saw some fantastic meals coming out of these lunchboxes!

To keep their activity levels high we also made use of the interactive whiteboard and got the children to dance along to different routines they were shown.  The children really enjoyed this with some great dancing going on!
