In DT, children have been making their own Space rockets.
First, we designed it in our DT books and drew what we wanted it to look like. We then labelled our drawing and added detail to make it look more realistic. We worked very well in pairs and helped each other out to construct our rockets. We used a plastic bottle which we covered in paper mache. We then painted it white as a base for our own choice of colour. After painting it, we added wings, boosters, windows and doors. Finally, the rocket was ready and we could add our final touches. We used a variety of resources: crepe paper, stickers, cut outs etc. to make it our own. Then all we needed to do was to put our name on it. It was so much fun!
