During Art Week 2018 we are learning about the famous Pop Artist, Andy Warhol.
On Tuesday, we started to think about what Pop Art really means by creating collages of things we think are 'popular' today. Then in the afternoon, we learnt that Andy Warhol is especially famous for creating brightly coloured portraits of well-known people. We had a go at making our own Pop Art self-portraits - after all, we are VIPs!
Next, on Wednesday, we used the portrait skills we learnt the day before to make portraits of famous people we had talked about. We think that Moana looks even better with bright turquoise hair!
On Thursday we learnt some interesting facts about Andy Warhol. For example, we learnt that he was born in Pennsylvania, USA and was first famous for his drawings of shoes! We also had a go at printing our own pictures of popular items, like Coca Cola, Dairy Milk, iPhones and Nintendo Switches.
